Who: Chris and Danté
Where: Near the forest cottages
When: Afternoon
What: Something wicked this way comes

When had Chris become such a good liar?

She had talked with Emily earlier that day asking for permission to spend the night at a friend's house. Of course, Chris didn't mention which friend it was in particular knowing that Emily would have said 'no' if she knew that Chris's friend was Hayate. But the older woman didn't ask anything beyond whether the friend was a boy or a girl, and without a second thought Chris answered that it was a girl. Emily seemed okay with the answer, though, and allowed Chris to go.

Chris couldn't hide her excitement as she packed her overnight bag for her sleepover at Hayate's. She had been over to the vampire's house plenty of times during the day, spending the entire day with him. But overnight? For more than ONE night?? Alone?! Chris was practically jumping out of her skin with happiness as she shoved her pink slipper boots into her bag and zipped it close. Chris couldn't remember a time when she had ever lied to an adult, and she most certainly had never lied to her parents when they were together. But this was an entirely different situation, one that required a small, white lie. That was okay, wasn't it? Of course it was! They were lucky that she even asked in the first place!

She bounded down the steps two at a time and jumped the last two stairs for good measure. "Hey I'm leaving!" She called out to no one in particular. She didn't see anyone in the kitchen or living room, and assumed that they were up in their rooms or out somewhere. She shrugged her bag off her shoulders, letting it drop to the floor with a muffled 'thud'. Chris reached into the back pocket of her jeans and pulled out a folded note she had written while she was up in her room.

"Just a reminder that I won't be back until after the full moon! Thanks again for letting me spend the next few days with my friend. Don't get into any trouble without me! - Love, Chris"

It was a simple note, one that reminded Emily that she wouldn't be home and that she had been given permission to leave. Adults had the tendency to forget little things like that at times, and kids always got in trouble for it. It was crazy really, but that's how parents were.

The young girl lifted up her bag and let it rest upon her right shoulder. Thankfully it wasn't too heavy so the trek to town wouldn't be so bad. Chris left the forest cottage with a bright smile on her face, and without a care in the world.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Constance, Dylan, Theora, and Adam
When: Morning
Where: Town Hall
What: The council has some important things to discuss.

Furious wasn't the proper word to describe how Constance currently felt as she stormed down the hall to find Dylan and Theora. Adam trailed behind her, keeping close. On the same night as her granddaughter getting attacked by a werewolf, a faun turned up half-eaten and torn to shreds near the festival grounds. It wasn't a coincidence in her eyes. By now, everyone knew about the dead faun, but nobody knew about her granddaughter, Alicia. They were keeping it under wraps to safeguard the minds of the community. With the news of the faun on the loose, if they heard about Alicia then the entire community would panic.

Her shoes clacked loudly against the wooden floor. When she arrived in the council chambers, Constance waited for Adam to step into the room before she slammed the door behind them and let her anger known to her colleagues and councilmen.

"What the hell is going on around here?" Constance demanded, regardless of whether or not anyone had any answers to her question. "Already, people are referring to it as a murder when we don't even know what's happened — and I can't take this." Constance sat down in the nearest chair, looking more worn for wear than usual. Adam took a seat beside her, a worried expression on his face. Constance hadn't wanted Adam to get dragged into it, but Alicia was family and he already knew about what happened to her.

"I've told Lucinda and Kelsey to keep quiet about Alicia. I've told Alicia, Zach, Adrienne, and Nico too. No one else is to know about this. If word gets out Alicia was attacked by a werewolf outside of the full moon and then a dead faun turns up, everyone's gonna think we have a psycho on our hands." Constance chewed her bottom lip. She said something then they all had to take into consideration.

" . . . And maybe it's time to recognize we do."

Who: Hayate and Kelsey
When: Early Evening
Where: The Kitano's Cottage
What: A meeting to check up on documents — and family.

Hayate was not sure what drove him to the Kitano's cottage in Helicharis. His own curiosity bested him in the end, despite all of his efforts to fend it off. The vampire desired to see the paperwork and documents the young boy had told him about weeks ago. Ever since his last meeting with Zach Kitano, he could not erase the thoughts surrounding their possible blood ties any longer. An onward-pushing nudge remained in the back of his mind, urging his feet along the path through the houses. He had to find out for certain if what the boy spoke of could be true, or whether or not it was the deranged mumblings of a grief-ridden teenager.

Once at the door of their cottage, he rose his fist to knock. The announcement of his unexpected arrival beckoned another to the door, a man he had never met before. A tall, dark-haired man with stern features and a larger build than his own. Hayate wondered if he was even human, but then he smelt the familiar scent a moment later and knew this man was a human. Most likely, he was Zach's father.

“Hello,” Hayate said. “I’m sorry if I’ve come at a bad time, but I met a boy by the name of Zach Kitano. He . . . had some interesting information to share with me.” )

Who: Aveira and OPEN
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Blacksmith and Weaponsmith Shop
What: Aveira is at work and gets a guest!

The smell of burning metal was very frank in the Blacksmith and Weaponsmith shop. To some it may be a little headache raising on nose after just about an hour or so, but to Aveira it was just as refreshing as the smell of the bakery. The workload was the bit of the headache. It wasn’t like back home where technology could give out a hand with the various weapons she enjoyed crafting. This was the old fashioned way. On the plus side, it was like creating art. Though it encouraged enough sweat to make you lose about ten pounds with just one making of the sword, it would be a true art piece for anyone to have.

The shop was set to Aveira’s liking and often times she would relocate anything any other shop workers would move. In her opinion it had a great appeal. The ordinary swords and daggers were neatly and horizontally placed around the shop in a ‘C’ like formation. They didn’t take long to forge and she figured since she pretty much made the table herself, it went where she pleased.

Double edged swords, or ethnic like swords such as the Kris or Katana that sometimes took days for Aveira to make rest in a nicely decorated table in the middle along with daggers with designs on them. In the far back were less harmful looking weapons like wooden swords for children or anyone who would fancy them. On the back wall, crossbows, lances, staffs and weapons of request were located there.

She sat at the table she always rested at, legs propped up with her trademark cigarette occupied hand that hung by her side. Aveira let out a prolonged sigh, smoke circling through the air. When she thought she heard a noise, perhaps hesitant footsteps only a brow quirked up. Her voice wasn’t tainted with rudeness, but perhaps a bit of annoyance. This had happened before. Did she look mean from behind?

“You know. The shop is open for a reason.”

Who: Faye and Niccolo
When: Evening
Where: Market Place
What: Faye is spying on people, and oh my!

As she carefully made her way through the crowds in the market, Faye tried to keep up with a blond figure she was following. Over the past week she at once met the man whom Kaiya's affections had been geared toward. He came over for dinner and a few other times. Each time he displayed a lovely outward attitude and even astounded Faye with how well he handled her grilling questions about who he was and his past. The man was fae like both of them, but he hadn't any wings on his back. Apparently, someone had torn them off of him. It was a dreadful story and one that caused Faye's heart to swell with compassion.

On the other hand, Faye was a nosy person and she wanted to know everything there was to know about this new man in Kaiya's life and whether or not he was any good for her. She hid herself amongst the people all around her, toning down her appearance today with full clothing. More than what she usually wore. She even had on a light jacket! Her wings were tucked nicely underneath it all, folded against her back and out of sight.

The blond man visited two stores and strolled through the crowds a little aimlessly as if he was enjoying the scenery. Faye peeked over the shoulders of those around her. She really wasn't watching where she was going. If she kept this up, she was bound to run into someone head on.

Which, of course, happened a moment later.

Faye lost sight of the man she was following and stood up on her tippy toes to spot him over the crowd. Sometimes being short was a real hindrance. On top of that, her wings were tucked beneath her clothing and flying above everyone wasn't a current option. She hurried forward through the people, crashing right into someone in her path. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" she blurted out, sweeping the hair out of her face. Great, she had lost him! Oh well, Faye thought with a sigh.

Who: Pryce and Kazuki
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Medical Pavilion
What: Stuck in a storage closet. How will they ever get out?

Pryce held both of his forearms outward, the flat of his hands aimed toward the door in front of himself. His eyes were closed as if he was trying to focus really, really hard. Taking a deep breath, Pryce exhaled it slowly and spoke to a figure behind him. "If you break my concentration," he began, "I'll use you to open the door. Do we have an understanding?" Nice, brunt, and to the point. The initial talking, jibberish, and slamming his fist into the door hadn't gotten them anywhere, but it did give Pryce a sore hand. Pryce knew their best bet was for him to use his powers to open the door, and that's what he was going to do.

His mind focused on using half of the force behind his full capabilities. If the door didn't fly immediately off its hinges because of that, well then Pryce wasn't sure what to do. He took another deep breath. Exhaled. Finally, all of his muscles noticeably tensed up. His face was strained, the veins in his arms and hands bulging.

A small dent appeared in the metal door.

Pryce suddenly opened his eyes, hands still held out. He stared in shock at how two-hundred pounds of brute force psychokinetic power couldn't open the damn door! A slew of curse words exited Pryce's mouth, and he rammed his shoulder into the obstacle in their path.

"Ow," the doctor said, stumbling away from the storage closet's door. Well, that didn't work either. "Good grief, we're trapped in here," Pryce said morbidly.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Alicia, Zach, Adrienne, and Zane
When: Early Morning
Where: Medical Pavilion
What: Discussion over what attacked Alicia, and the consequences.

Alicia sat upright in the hospital cot, her legs free and feet swaying back and forth atop the sheets. Having sheets draped over her legs made her feel like she was dying, so Alicia had chucked them off and just sat on the bed. Her parents were upset and furious. Well, her mom was more on the upset side and her dad was more on the furious side. She had already had a talk with them, and they had to have a doctor explain to them that being bitten by a werewolf was no simple thing. The bite wasn't severe, but Alicia could have caught the virus. Fact was they wouldn't know for sure until the full moon came in two days.

In much calmer spirits than her parents, Alicia hummed quietly to herself when Zach and Adrienne finally showed up. A grin plastered itself onto her face, and she held out her arms for a hug from her brother and his girlfriend. Never mind they needed to cross the room first before she could get a hug. Alicia liked to prepare for oncoming things. Like hugs.

"I can't get up out of the bed," she said in a fast voice. "I already tried and it hurt my leg, and Doctor Zane said I need to stay in the bed, so I have to stay in the bed." When they reached her, Alicia wrapped her arms around her brother's neck and hugged Zach tightly. She pulled away afterwards, holding her arms out to Adrienne. "Hug!" Alicia exclaimed, throwing her arms around Adrienne's neck next to get a hug out of her.

"So, how are you guys doing this morning? Everything cool? How was the rest of the festival? I know I didn't get to ask you guys last night. Everybody was in such a hurry with examining me and checking me up and all that medical crap. And this Elf came in here and used some weird gooey see-through green stuff on my leg, and it smelled like plants, and they said not to wash it off. I'm supposed to leave this wrap on until the end of the day and then they'll give me a new one."

It was a mouthful, but leave it up to Zach's sixteen-year-old sister to blurt out a mouthful before she would ever let the other two talk.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Zosimus, OPEN (Perhaps Amada as well?)
Where: Lake shore by the water bungalows
When: Morning
What: Zosimus makes his appearance after a getaway from the rest of the herd

The morning after the festival, the little centaur boy awoke and rubbed his eyes with the heels of his dirty hands before running his fingers through his hair. In the day Zosimus had been away from the herd he managed to get stuck in mud, which was now practically all over him, cut himself on a thorny bush, and not catch himself something to eat. Stomach grumbling with hunger at roughly eight o'clock, the foal lumbered up to his hooves and shook himself off. A twitching motion traveled across his horse back until his tail swished while his arms reached high above his head until his human spine cracked. He was ready to move on.

Assessing his surroundings, fingers pushing some of his too-long, scraggly hair from his eyes, Zosimus started ahead. His hooves crushed the grass as he moved along while scanning the greenery land. It was nice here, he noticed, nicer than where he had woken up in pain all those weeks ago. The thought of pain made him stop in his tracks, turning to look around behind himself to his right. That wound on the right side of his hind was covered in caked-on dirt, a dull ache bothering him now that he remembered. Swallowing, the boy considered finding a river or lake to wash himself off in. He could hear the water lapping against shore and made his way toward it, moving quickly despite the pain in his farthest most hip.

A smile then spreading across his face when he saw the shining waters, his teeth were the only thing to be white. Zosimus's skin was so covered it was hard to tell what race the boy was, but quickly he charged in to the water. Splashing around, he continued to smile and stand in the shallow end as the mud washed clean the shorts hairs along his horse half. Taking a few steps deeper in to the cooling liquid he dipped his hands in and then splashed his chest. The dry muck dripped down his flat toros to reveal cream white skin, though his face was still so covered and his hair was nasty. It needed a trim badly, so did his tail which nearly swept the ground when he walked. Surely when Zosimus got out of the water it would drag behind, hanging with wet.

Suddenly, however, the centaur stopped when his ears perked lightly at a sound coming from behind him. Turning quickly, he raised his hands in defense as his eyes fell upon who or what had created the noise.

What: Startling discoveries

ooc: This post is open for ALL people who wish to be a part of this. React in the way your character normally would. There is no right or wrong way to do this scene, just go with it and have fun!

The sounds of the Autumnal Festival echoed until the early morning hours of the next day. There were still some revelers about, drinking wine and playing in the leaves. Some of them were naked – having too much wine did that sometimes – and dancing around without a care in the world. Others were content to just pass out wherever they might have fallen until the effects of the alcohol left their system. All in all, the festival was a success.

Morning dew clung to leaves like small, crystalline jewels and the world smell like an odd mixture of wine and fresh, morning air. The festival grounds were littered with debris, but the fauns and their volunteers weren’t worried about cleaning up the mess just yet. They had to recover from their celebration first – cleaning could be done at any time. Despite the left over party goers, and the sounds of animals awakening in the forest there was a slightly eerie feeling that lingered everywhere.

Perhaps it was due in part to the fog that hovered near the ground this morning. It lingered around the bottoms of trees, and completely covered low lying bushes and shrubs. Some things would have gone completely unnoticed because of it! Thankfully, as the sun rose in the sky so too did the fog.

And then the fog lifted... )

When: Same time as the Autumn Festival.
Where: Northern Forest
What: Alicia gets lost in the forest while following a faun and runs into trouble.

OOC Note: The attacker's comments will be written by one of the mods to ensure their anonymity! However, the attacker's player will be telling the mods what to write for the scene to keep the actions in character.

Alicia walked through the forest with careful steps. Gosh, it was dark out here! She knew everyone else was having fun at the festival, but she had followed one of the fauns out here to see where the fauns lived. The girl told her most of them lived further out in the forest in cottages built by themselves much like their ones back home. A number of them lived in the forest cottages as well, but Alicia wanted to see the faun community out in the Northern Forest. So, the faun promised to take her to it . . . and here she was lost in the middle of the forest because of it.

A glimmer in the forest floor had arrested her attention, which was the reason for Alicia being lost. She had veered off path to discover what the glimmer was, only to discover it was nothing more than a stream. Frowning, Alicia hurried back up to the path to find the faun, but the faun was nowhere to be found. "Hello?" Alicia had called out the faun's name, but the girl didn't answer her. Placing her hands on her hips, Alicia let out a sigh. Great. Now, she was lost.

Turning herself around, she headed back the way she came. Alicia figured she could find her way back easily enough, and wandering further out into the forest at this late hour wasn't a bright idea. Especially when she didn't know where she was going.

Who: Simon - Narrative
Where: Northern Forest
When: During the Autumn Festival after this happens
What: Somebody is not a happy camper... >:D

Blinding rage tore through Simon. Festival lights glowed somewhere behind him. He kept running ahead. Deeper and deeper into the forest. Wolves found comfort in the forest. Simon was no different. Head pounded from the metal slammed into it. Zach. Simon growled just thinking his name. Wanted to crush that boy’s skull in. Fucking human had no goddamn right to Adrienne! None! Adrienne was Simon’s and always been Simon’s and Simon was gonna get her back. Wasn’t going to be tonight but he’d find a way real soon. He’d take care of the worthless boy Adrienne clung to and get him outta the picture.

No full moon hung in the sky. Simon didn’t need one. Knew how to shift without a moon to force it outta him. He stopped in the dead of the forest. Everything was quiet. Closed his eyes. Held up his head and called out to the moon. Howled like a wolf. Like the werewolf he was. Then it came. The shifting. Claws grew out of his hands. Teeth grew into his mouth. A muzzle grew from his face. Hair sprouted up all over his body. Bones cracked and realigned. Simon fell to the ground. Hit his knees. Continued to shift. Into the wolf.

The shift completed. Wasn’t no human standing there anymore. On all fours crouched an animal. Half wolf. Half human. Nature he was born into. A born werewolf. Didn’t need no moon to shift. Raising his head to the sky he howled at the moon in agony. Body still hurt like hell. Head hurt. Bones hurt. Muscles hurt. Never stopped hurting. Only dulled through the years.

His heart hurt most of all. Adrienne. She left him for a weak human. Called a human her alpha male. Chose a mate and it wasn’t Simon.

Roaring out at the forest Simon caused leaves to tremble and little animals to scatter. He tore through the trees and ran and ran and ran. He was gonna run until he couldn’t run no more. He was gonna hunt. He was gonna kill to get the aggression outta him. Nothing else was gonna make him feel better.

Simon ran through the forest and howled his pain to the moon.
